hi people, need a bit of help here.

I have a spare PC which starts up with a message saying my Registry is messed up. So i click on fix it and it cant do it so makes me restart. I cant get into Windows at all. i have a diagnostic disc that came with it and it lets me access the D; (cdrom) drive but the windows 95 cd has a couple of wierd foders like mssetup.tmp and one with the squiggly line etc...no decent exe like setup.

How can I run Win95 setup on this? or even win98?

Need desperate help people...

many thanks

Type dir s*.exe to look for the setup file from the Cdrom drive prompt if this is a full version of windows CD you talking about.

you could try booting into dos by holding the F8 key down during boot at the menu choose c: prompt only

At the c:\ prompt type scanreg /restore

this will put you into the reg back up, find an old registry date and choose that one if that backup isn't corrupted it will replace your existing reg files and allow you to boot the PC as it was on the date youve chosen the reg file from
