Will Grand Theft Auto 3 be released on the xbox any time soon..?...at all?

If they don't make it official at E3 then it's not going to happen...it's possible that you might have to wait for the 4th installment but I honestly think they have big plans for it's debut in a couple weeks. Let's cross our fingers, huh?

Like jag said i think that they will come out with a GTA4 for the xbox....

if u dont plan on getting a ps2, gta3 for pc is comming out.

I used to think that Microsoft just had to keep it quiet because Sony may have had some clause in the contract that stated no other version could be announced for x amount of months after the PS2 version came out...but I'm starting to have my doubts now. The PC version is coming out very soon, and still no mention of the XBox one. Kind of strange since State of Emergency IS coming out.

At this point, I'll probably just pick up the PC version since I don't own a PS2 (although the price drop may sway me a little). Then I'll just wait until GTA4 comes out, which most likely will show up on XBox just as fast as any other version.

I think you make some very good points Kane, and I'm starting to have my doubts as well...I'm still going to cross my fingers however, as X-Box and Microsoft have promised plenty of surprises for this year's E3 (unlike last year when everyone knew what was coming...)...

well, if the emulator peeps do their jobs, maybe someone will come out with a windows emulator. Then all you have to do is buy the gta3 for pc and you got the game!

Gamespot just reported that GTA3 and State of Emergency for X-Box are both no shows on Rockstars promo list for E3...however, it doesn't really mean anything...yet...as all the companies like to have so-called "surprises" for the show...

I heard Gta 3 for X-box was ready to come out It evan had a whole another city just for the x-box...But Sony made some deal with rockstar not to sell out to x-box So now its not coming out...a Friend at the Game store told me that (with his inside info..) also I heard x-box is doing real bad over in japan..the Dreamcast is beating it in sales (go figure sega is dead..) microsoft is not doing so good with the x-box..And it really pisses me OFF
that every week I have been having lan partys and X-box can't seem to get another muti player link game out....why could they make james bond ?
4 player why not 16... or hunter the wreck...a system link...Dammmm..just have to wait a damm year for halo 2 or the update to come out...So sick

There could be some truth to that (the 4th city your friend heard about was Miami, right? :D)...I've heard something to this effect as well, that the game was ported from the pc version and then Sony started crying foul b/c they had sold a ton of the ps2 version and decided they wanted it exclusive. Still gonna' hold out hope but I'll admit, it's looking more and more like we're going to have to wait until number 4. :(

If you haven't heard yet you will now. As of today the entire GTA series for the next two years (til' Oct. 2004) will be exclusive to PS2.
In short it will only be on PS2 ,for now?

yep, the 4th installment, Grand Theft Auto: Vice, will be released this October...ps2 exclusive...guess all's fair in competition...that's ok, there are a couple of GTA3 clones on the way, here's hoping they're as good, if not better, than the GTA series...

the competition isn't fair. i hate games that is exclusive for 1 system.

well, Microsoft went out of it's way to make the games exclusive for X-Box, Nintendo's first party titles are obviously exclusive, and Sony is just doing more of the same...that's the way it's always worked...

There is a simple solution to this and this problem is common to every generation of game systems. There has always been exclusive title for each system, for instance Mario and Sonic back when Nintendo and Sega were on top. Then Sony had Crash. Every system has to have its exclusive title, this title is what entices people to buy the system. If every game was availible on every system, then there would be no reason to buy more then one system. This would not be very good for the game companies. Right now each company is going beyond the franchise chracter being exclusive. Sony still has Crash, Nintendo still has Mario (they most likely will also have a Sonic game, don't know if it will be exclusive), and Mircosoft has Abe. Now nintendo went out and got the Resident Evil series exclusive to their system, Microsoft has Halo, so Sony was like damn what are we gonna have. They took a look at what they were selling the most of, GTA3 and they want that to be there exclusive series.

This is how the gaming industry grows and lives on, so my solution to this problem is exactly the same as to my solution to exclusive titles in previous generations of systems. BUY ALL THE SYSTEMS. Now if I see a game I want, I can say to myself, "I want that game and I am going to buy it, because I can play any game on any system." True this may be costly, but what the hell.

Gta 3 will not be coming to x-box they signed a exclusive deal with PS2 but who who cares did you see the game the game that are coming NINJA GAIDEN , Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance ,Project Ego and many more all exclusive so the future is Bright for the Xbox.
