View Full Version : my xp1700 reboots randomly and wont give a signal to monitor when it does??? [; ; winXP]

hi ive got a custom xp system built by me! but ive got a problem that now and then it reboots and doesnt give a signal to the monitor, the base unit sound as if it is booting normally?

any help much appreciated

It sounds like the CPU is over heating.

Check in the BIOS to see what temp it is. Is the fan fitted correctly?

What type of mainboard is it??

Are you using onboard Graphics or an AGP Slot??

Is there an option in BIOS to initialize Onboard AGP or PCI Graphics first??

sounds to me like your graphics card isn't seated properly

its a jetway board, its not my pc i just build em and sell them, but this one is stranged, the graphics card is agp and is fully in its slot with the catch firmly in place

wot temp should thge cpu get to??
