Hi wonder if anyone can help me, just lately when i start windows xp once logged in it trys to connect me to the internet, says that i or a program has requested information from www.something.etc

I have noticed that msdtc.dll is running when i look in task manager, when i end the task it stops trying to connect me to the net. So thats the problem file the question is why is it loading up and how do i stop it, tried everything i can think of, looking at msconfig to see if it had anyting in there but could not find a thing. Recently had the klez virus on my system so could this be anything to do with it?

Any help would be really appreciated as its driving me mad!

:furious:

Thanks

What is the name of www.something.etc ?

It could be MSN messenger trying to dial up.

Just checked and another address it wants to go to is fastcounter.beatcentral.com

Which is another msn associate so its something to do with MSN as you said, question is what.

Thanks

Make sure that MSN messenger isn't running.

Does your e-mail client load at start up?

fastcounter.beatcentral.com - isn't an MSN website, visit it...

The MSN site is www.bcentral.com . Have a look at that url you've given.

Do you have any anti-virus protection? If not then you should visit http://housecall.antivirus.com/ and do an online scan.

The DLL in the topic header is a Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC)
