Can I keep this in this forum as moving it 2 ps2 forum and it will get lost.

Any way...
What r the pros and cons of each of the chip thats out there and will i be able to chip my pal PS2 3003-R with them.

Im on a limited budget. However I want the chip that will give me most compatibilty and if possible allow me to play DVD- movies.

Is swapping of boot discs a big ball ache.

Is the Chip + Action Replay 2 method worth the hassle over a chip that costs more but no AR2 is needed?

Which is the newest and greatest chip. and what will i expect to pay for it?

i would go for a messiah as it is curently the best chip out, which is compatible with your ps2. i have it and it is great and no ar is needed it does the following without using a swap method

PSX GAMES (CD-ROM - CDR)
(NTSC imports at full screen playback)
PS2 GAMES (CD-ROM - CDR and DVD-ROM - DVDR)
ORIGINAL IMPORTED PSX AND PS2 GAMES

and do you mean you also want to play any dvds then get the dvd region x disc

the chip plus installation is around £120 thats if you in the uk which i you are as you have a pal machine.

Hi, I had a neo 2.2 with boot disc, so I had to swap disks.
I upgraded to a messiah, boots everything without a swap trick.
Definitely recommend a messiah.
Search the Buy,sell, trade in europe for very reliable installers who will supply and fit a messiah.

cheers

The MESSIAH is definiatley the best chip around, but it is also the most expensive.
As wod_uk said, it does everything. It was the best thing I have done. You have got to think, for the price of 3 new games the chip is payed for. After that the games are a fraction of the price & you can play games from the U.S.A & JAPAN that havent been released here yet.
Well worth paying the extra for the MESSIAH.
