I am running norton but prefer Mcafee but when I install it it says dll not found when my computer starts up..I am running xp and my old mcafee wont work.

So what is installed now ?
Trying to make some sense out of your post, but all I can see is you run Norton, but you would pref McAfee, when you install, dll not found, installing what ?

Is your version of McAfee XP compatiable ?
Also important to remove Norton before you install McAfee as I have seen on many occasions when the two start to fight and this can cause problems for Windows.
