Right, I have been told that I must of connected up my DVDR wrong as it takes 18 hours to burn a DVD due to constantly under running. They told me it needs to be on the Primary Master connection but mine is on the Primiary Slave.

Anyway, I changed it to Primary Master and my booting HD to Primary Slave and when it loads up I get a blue screen and error message saying UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

But when I put the HD to Master and DVDR back to Slave, it works fine again.

What can I do as I am losing valuable burning time.

Cheers guys

You can try connecting your burner on Secondary Master.

Ummm yeah I'm sure they meant Secondary Master not Primary
And check the DMA setting is enabled for your drives

My IDEs on my board are full. I have an IDE Controller card with one channel spare.

Can I just wire the DVDR from that channel as master??

Cheers

for myself I would connect my hd to the primary master and the dvdr to secondary master on the mobo any other devices I would set up as slave and any more on to the controller card
It works for me
hope this helps
