Does anyone know a decent alternative to MS Word? I've tried Star Office but its crap. I don't really have the time to learn Tex/Latex.

Whats Wordperfect like these days? Do any other big software developers make office type programs, what about Adobe?

Cheers

You can try Ability Office, they are Office compatiable and the foot prints are very small, the link here should answer any questions you may have.
The whole suite is around 25-30 pounds I think.

You may also take a look at Lotus Smartsuite, in computer fairs, you can pick one up (even millenium edition) for like 10 pounds.

Persoonally perfer Ability Office for the cleaner interface and the speed because of the program has a much smaller fottprint when running.
