I had a m8s pc round AMD 1.0ghz packard bell when turning it on the fan comes on and lights but there was no display at all, I tested his ram on my machine and found it to be ok, so I noticed there was a little dust in the ram slot so I blew it out with a canister of air. The machine then worked and booted ok, one week later he has the same problem, I presume that the dimm slot is knackered that seats the ram, is the only way around this a new mobo please, any suggestions welcome, is there a better way of cleaning the dimm slot than using a can of air?

Clean it out with air again then with a soft brush try using metho to make sure contacts are clean,,,this will evaporate quickly...leave it untill completely dry before putting unit back together. (Obviously you have unplugged everything etc to get to this point)

MAY HELP ..BUT JUST MAKE SURE IT IS COMPLETELY EVAPORATED (DRY)
