is anyone aware of any information regarding booting 80 minute ps2 cd-r backups w/ the no-mod kinfe swap ?

i haven't had any luck when i use the typical cd-r swap w/ my v1.99c gameshark and v5 ps2. i figure it is due to the higher toc size of the 80 minute game.

i have no problems booting 74min and below cd-r's with the typical cd-r knife swap trick, nor do i have problems booting dvd-r's using the dave-mirra-80-codes trick.

any assistance is greatly appreciated.

no there isnt anyway yet for booting any games over 630 mb without a modchip unfortunitly. Its not quite that easy because games gotta be under the TOC limit of the GS.

Umm what about DVD region X or the MEtal gear solid 2 cheat cd???

haven't tried them yet, but they are game specific. i am looking for a 'no one lives forever' no-mod [lives forever?] kit.

Something I was wondering was, is it possible to go and do a swap using another 80 minute cd similar to the dvdr boot method, except using some other cd that is about 80 minutes in length?
Ive been wanting to test this, but I dont have any games over the 71 min max toc.

Combine the R-Mod with the S-box and you'll have a full working PS2...That's what I did.

the game that is replaced doing the dvd swap is a 'real' dvd, not a backup. as such, the game that is replaced doing a cd-r swap in the same manner must be a 'real' cd. it cannot be a backup. as a result, this is not an option because all 'real' cd's are in fact dvd's.

There are no original CD's that are over 630 mb to my knowledge. Swing Away Golf is the only CD based game that I know of that won't boot with a no-mod method.
