im sick of my writer it take on average 20 mins to do 1 disk what ones do u guy reccomend

I would recommend the Plextor 40/12/40 for arond £120, had mine a few months, no problems, does on the fly copy in about 5 - 7 minutes

try a liteon 32x you can prolly get it for around 80-90$ and its great for burning w/ burnproof

if you look around a bit, you can get a 16x liteon for around £50-60, that will burn a cd in 5 minutes.

Actually the 24 speed Liteon is £55 from SVP. Got one last week excellent machine can read and write raw, also can burn right up to 99 minutes

Something must be wrong with your system. I am still running my old HP9300i (10X) and it does on the fly burns in 8 mins for a full 700MB disc. How can your 40X Plextor be 1-2 mins faster than my drive?:confused:

I would say get a Plextor. I have a 24x10x40. Also the time it takes to burn a disc depends on many factors such as wether you are burning data, images, audio, video etc & the size of the image or file you are burning to the disc. It also depends on your setup & your computer configuration

I have a HP and its fast and reliable.

Yes but Plextor is most expensive aswell. You can get the same spec writer for under half the price that will do exactly the same thing as a Plextor or maybe more. Its a bit like DVD players the cheaper ones have more features than the dearer ones
