Slight problem when shutting down? [Mine; K6 2 500; winME]

Since re-formatting I've noticed that when I shutdown it goes straight past the "it is now safe to blah blah blah" screen. The message flashes for a split second then the screen just goes dark. When I switch the PC back on, everything is normal, i.e. scandisc doesn't run, it just starts up as normal. I'm just wondering if I can get my safe to switch off screen back?

Its called as Auto Shutdown of Machine. Feature of ATX compatible board with APM enabled from CMOS Power management section.

But, it didn't do that before I re-formatted?

Okay, why on earth do you want to manually have to turn the machine off???

If you really wan't to, go to Control Panel and into the Power section. Somewhere in there will be an option to disable auto shutdown. Otherwise it will be in your BIOS.

I just want it to be the same as it was. You know, my old faithful tried and trusted pc, come on you know the feeling?
Steeve.

Yeah... Turn OFF APM from BIOS.
