does it really matter where the ps2 was made from?
 
does it really matter where the ps2 is made of? cause i have a v4 but it was made from japan even tho i bought it in the US. not sure what mod chip i should use.

No won't matter to the upgrade. You just have to check that the chip you fit is compatable with your console (most new modchips are) and the installation wires are usually different on a couple of points, but the short answer to your question is that it shouldn't cause a problem.
