What is unsigned code?
Hi, i was looking at the neo-x site and it said

Modified XBE's and Unsigned code can boot (This is a HUGE feature - as you'll all see soon)

Is this emulators and stuff?

What are the chances of an N64 or a DC emulator on Xbox?

There is no DC emu for PC so I doubt you will see one on Xbox. As far as the others go we will just have to see. I personally think that any emu for PC should be capable of being ported to Xbox.

My guess is that the X-Box only runs authorised electronically signed code... as way to prevent illegal programs running.

If you can run unsigned code.. then that means that any program can run... ie: backups, emulators etc.

i would imagine its like the WindowsXP and Windows2000 drivers - if you get a driver that is not Digitally Signed then you get the choice to install it or not - similar idea here except if the signature is not found then it just doesnt run

this unsigned code will allow booting of home made programs

Cool, thanks everyone. Does this mean that we will soon be seeing (s)vcd players, divx players etc?
