Missed that bit!

The only thing I can think of is that there is an error on the new hdd.
Did the new pc boot with it ok?

If you've got access to scandisk (on Win98 cd) or norton disk doctor, boot to dos & let them do a surface scan of both hdds (this won't work if they are NTFS).


As it's a new pc I would still advise you do a clean install of WinXP. Only question is will that work?

yes the PC boot with the new HDD.

Mmmmhhhh both disks have NTFS.
