i read the faq on dvd rips to svcd but that takes ages to keep converting and saving all the time and i was wondering there has got to be a quicker alternative but still has the same quality, i must admit i was impressed with the quality

If you want the quality then im afraid your stick with the long encoding times,why not do what I do, start it off when you go to bed and it will be done in the morning, even run 2 at once, will double the amount of time it takes but both should be done in the morning.
