These days there are a lot of PS2 DVD ripped games. The demo movie which sometime take up the most space is removed leaving the game play than can hold on CDR. This is good for the budget conscious and from my experience it is easier to find a CDR brand that the PS2 would boot than a DVD-R. Also the CDR backup faster.

yes..

my brothers x box plays white label dvd-r (general use ones) my ps2 wouldnt read those when we copied somke ps2 games on them..

it reads the white tops with a * on them, but for vice city it froze up propably proving these to be poor quality.

it reads verbatim dvd-r perfectly, but not cheap "bulkpaq" and "superior" dvd-rs..

every ps2 i do gets tested with ffX which is on a traxdata dvd-r.. so these are probably good, since they all work great with it..

I got a Ritek DVDR today, its definitely better than the Princo - I am sayign this due to the noise leve I hear when it loads it up, Ritek is good. Princo's are good too , but I prefer Ritek now.

Havent tried Verbatim, but dont think there is any use, so I'll stick to Ritek for now on.
