Pins 7 and 8 on A m8. You can leave these permanently connected in the chain if you wish, just means that the chip can be flashed at any time. that should not be a prob unless MS start playing silly buggers and try to flash chips with retail bios. Think this unlikely though. [/B]
So, from what you're saying, the way Cheapmod is wired according to this website( ********warmcat.com/milksop/cheapmod.html ), it is already setup to be reflashable in the XBox.

I would have really liked to wire it somehow that it would be impossible to accidentally re-flash it. Where would 7 & 8 be connected to if I just wanted the mod to operate normally and be unflashable?? Trying to see if it is possible to have it switchable for flashing.

Ofcourse you can fit a bios flash enable/disable switch. Link Pins 7 and 8 together take a wire from these to a switcj, then take a wire off the chain 3,4,5,6 etc to the other side of the switch. You then have a flash enable/disable switch.

But shouldn't they be connected to something else when not flash enabled? They told us in school that you shouldn't leave un-used inputs floating or the chip will pull them high.
