Default Changing Ip on XP

I am trying to connect my xbox and pc, and i am up to were i have to go in and change my ip on my pc. I go to control panel then network connections, then i am suppose to network connection, but its not there.

I am using win xp, PLEASE HELP

you must have some connection box there as you can go online.try un-installing your network card then re-boot! windows should detect it and install it

This is a bit easier when you get a router, plus you can play xbox live! Just make sure to turn off that mod chip!

go into your contraol panel - system settings, hardware - Device manager and check if the NIC is installed, if not then XP did not install it, you might have a faulty NIC or its in a shared slot, try placing in another PCI slot, best to have it in a slot thats does not share, ie 1 and 5, unless your NIC is the type that shares !
