if it's using an ATIP check, install it from a reader (not a writer) or use clonecd's KillRegion patch

Divine Divinity is SD2.7 so doesn't use a ATIP check

Don't follow your logic... SD2 has been using ATIP checks for some time now... well before v2.7. Did they drop it for that version or something??

I think you are meaning Securerom. Safe disc has never checked the atip, only bad sectors. The latest versions use variants of weak sectors and pre gap information ( Not the same as reading ATIP). The weak sector patterns used are known to trip up writers that cannot do correct efm encoding.

Hate to disappoint you but SafeDisc has been using an ATIP check for quite some time now (since the 1.1 patch of Max Payne??). Be carefull if you have Alcohol installed, it has ATIP hiding enabled by default and it is active even if the program is not running.

Yes, Securom also has an ATIP check and has done a fair bit longer than SD, but we aren't talking about securom here.
