Default !!urgent!! Just Had To Reformat!! Ne Way 2 Recover Files??

Just had a crash, I havent installed ne thing besides widows and norton utilities (for unerase) but it dont work! Can i recover ne of my files???? I dident think the files where really *erased* just *hidden*

HELP!!!

The golden rule to recovery is NOT to touch the drive, as anything installing on the drive after than could easily write over existing data, and a format could easily rewrite the FAT table, making recovery more difficult than it should be.

The correct way to your problem is to find another hard drive, the same size or larger than your existing one, install Windows on the spare drive, then install the data recovery program on it, then set it to search the faulty drive, programs like GetDataBack will recover your data quite well, and will recover them to the new drive, without touching or alter your existing data on the faulty drive.

Some may choose to recover on the same drive (as you did) by installing the recovery software on it, but this is false economy, esp. if the data are important, as by doing so, you might have already destroyed the very data you are trying to recover.

Be easier to set fire to a book then reassemble the ashes back into a book
