What brands of media have you tried? Also what program was used to make the backup? If it was DVD X COPY or DVD X COPY express that was used to make it that might well be your problem. An easy way of telling is that the DVD X COPY programs insert a "DVD BACKUP" warning/disclaimer at the begining of all DVDRs that are made using these programs. It could also be the brands of media. What DVD Player does your friend have?

Thanks for the reply the media used was datawrite yellow and bulkpaq green, but have had no problems with these on that DVD player. There are no warnings or disclaimers on the DVD’s.

So you have tried a number of Bulqpaq Greens and Datawrite Yellows on your friends' DVD Player? It is possible that it is a hit or miss deal. His will play most Yellows and Bulqpaq discs but not all of them.

The 2 films with the “bad disc” are the only 2 that will not play on his DVD player? All other films on many types of DVD media work ok ……..weird or what
