Please can some one help me, when it comes to compression i hav'nt a clue, I have tried reading the help files in WINZIP & WINRAR and still dont get the maximum for compresson.
i am trying to zip files and all it seems to do is go from E.G 1.16mb to 1.15mb compression is very little, am i doing something stupid or is it right?
Also what is the best prog for compression, i have downloaded files in a SFX file at 64mb and it's opened at 175mb complete file.
Many thanks for your time in reading this

Compression ratio's will vary depending on the source. For instance RAW AVI, WAV, txt, etc. will compress very well where as already compressed things like mp3's generally will not.

I find that 7-zip usually gets the best ratios.
