Default Flashing Xecuter 2.2 Light - Any Help Appreciated

sponsored links

I just posted this on the xbox backup forum but mabye I should have posted it here?

Hi Guys.

I bought a pre-modded xbox about 8 months back with an Xecuter 2.2 Light chip in it. I can backup origonal games to the hdd via PX HDD loader and its fantastic. However, I have noticed that some newer games wont let me launch from the hard drive, giving an error about a dirty disk. The two games in question are Tenchu and RalliSport Challange 2.

This happened a long time ago and I had to flash my xbox, in the process I killed the box and had to buy a new one (the one with the Xecuter 2.2 Light). I obviously dont want to kill my new one!

Therefore I have a few questions, ANY help would be genuinly appreciated. I am a relitive newbie to this, but I am just soo confused by the wealth of information on xbox-scene and things like that - I need someone to point me in the right direction.

1 - I am presuming that these games are comlaining because MS have introduced some form of backup protection, thus it wont work... therefore I figure a new bios will resolve this?

2 - A little about my xbox config... as I said, the chip is an Xecuter 2.2 Light, it has a 120gb HDD in it and my EvoX dash days Version+3921, but the BIOS is listed as unknown. Is that normal? It is all working fine (except with the two new games) so the unknown has never botherd me in the past, but now I want to flash it could that be a problem?

3 - I am a little confused by the term EvoX. Is this the dash (ie, the GUI to launch games, set the IP , etc) or is it the actual BIOS... or is it both? If its both, do I need to update my dash when I flash it?

4 - What version of the bios / evoX do I need to download. I know I cant ask where to get it from, Im sure that I will find it somewhere, but what is the best version and is there a way of knowing its genuine rather than some fool trying to make me kill my xbox. And now for the big question... when I download the bios, is it just a case of copying it to the bios folder on the xbox c drive and via the EvoX menu opt to flash it, point it to the new one and wait... or do I need to do any prep-work or something on the bios file first?

As I said, I am sorry for being new to this but I am so paraniod that I will kill a second xbox that I need some pointers!

ANY help appreciated!!!!

Thanks Guys,
