Default How burners fail

sponsored links

I just sent a Liteon back for warranty service. As a tech that repairs camcorders VCR's and TV's I was wondering how the drive usually breaks. Mine would burn with no reported errors but on playback it would play only the first 5 or 6 songs then it would drop out or skip getting worse and worse. Does it have something to do with it recording starting in the center and writing outwards? Any drive techs out there? BTW I have owned 3 CD burners and two DVD drives and the longest one has lasted is two years.
