Default Office Network - Servers RAID and DAT???

sponsored links

I have installed a really simple and easy P2P network in the office where 10 computers are contect via a network and hub. All computers have access to broadband internet via a router connected to the hub. I have bought cheap but really goodsoftware (VPOP and Workgroupshare) to deal with email delivery and sahring outlook resourses. All the computers are XP Pro.

I am looking into a case managment system and although this will run on a peer to peer network i have been advised to look into geting a "proper server" and in particular a RAID Server with a DAT Tape Drive. I have no idea as to what this means or how to set this up or whether it is necesary.

It has also been mentioned about using an internet server but again i dont know what this means.

If a server is setup up, i understand that this runs on a different operating system. How does this work?

Thanks in advance for your help.
