ive recently bought a new sony dvd rewriter so that i could back up files onto dvd to save me some space. i burnt 2 dvds and they work fine but i went to burn one the other day and it got to 80% process and my computer shut off and restarted and sed that windows had recovered from a serious error! so i then tried burning files to a data disc in my cd rewriter (which is the same make everyone else has commented about on this page) and it did exactly the same! im really baffled about this and ive got hardly ne space left on my pc and im gettin desperate now lol. neone no whats wrong or how to fix it? thanks for your time. This thread is a bit old to drag up, you should really start a new one.

Anyway, it seems you've answered your own question, your drive is too full.

You need enough free space for Windows to operate, let alone burn DVD's.

Uninstall unused programs and delete old files to free up space, then try again using a slow speed.
