Red face Google Video GVI and GVP to AVI DivX DVD Converter Software

sponsored links

The «Google Video» service allows uploading video files to Google’s servers and making them available online for the in-browser viewing.

Despite Google’s reputation and money, Google Video is not the most popular video service, neither it is the first one. Nevertheless, the popularity of the service is rather great, and some very interesting and even exclusive content is available through this service only. Unlike other similar services, Google Video allows not only viewing video inside client’s browser, but also downloading it to the computer and then playing it with Google Video Player. The downloaded video format seems to be «proprietary» (it has the non-standard «.gvi» extension), but it can be easily converted to the common «avi» format with Naevius GVI Converter.

The process of the conversion is rather simple; the most complex part of it is the preparation. The thing is, Google Video’s «Download» link allows you to download a small .gvp file (its kind of a play list), then you should feed this «play list» to Google’s Video Player, which, in turn should download the actual movie file (.gvi). Once you have properly downloaded the .gvi, the next actions are straightforward: run Naevius GVI Converter, open the file in it, and then click Start. That’s all!
