A cd player will not read dvd's, if the car player can read mp3 then burn the files-mp3 - into data, you will get much more on disc.

I am using MSPlus!Digital Media Edition to convert ****og to digital. The problem is that CD-R discs capacity is about 80 min. so I have to use 1 disc for each side of a tape. The result is many discs for each Book. I noticed that DVD-R disc have a greater capacity, about 120 min. and am thinking that since I am recording only audio I might even be able to get more time on a disc.

I have access to a computer that has a DVD-RW drive.
I am unsure if I can record my digital files using MS Media onto a DVD-R disc that will play on my car CD player.

PlayStation 3 is not only an expensive game console but also an excellent video player. It could play high-def Blu-ray movies in addition to standard DVDs with a Blu-ray drive
