Default Need help with backups!

sponsored links

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble with backups on my Dreamcast (Pal). Whats happaning is, eg;

Sonic Adventure, which I burned with Alcohol 120% at 4x (slowest) TAO (Track at One), its sometimes loading (little slow) and the background audio on the game sometimes stops, and on some FMV's (like intro) it crashs and also sometimes during game go back to the Dreamcast Menu :/

The disc I'm using is a Verbatim R052.

Whats wrong with it!?

Is it the Download image (which is .cdi)?
The Dreamcast?
or the CD-R?

The CD-R was pretty cheap (costed like £5 for a spindle of 25.. or 50 (can't remember, friend gave me the disc)

If it is the disc, what would be the best disc to use?

All my originals work fine still (no problems).

Also, I suspect that the Sonic Adventure image is selfboot patched already, as the game is loading, but with all the problems stated above.

Many thanks in advence!

I've kinda sorted the problem with booting. I did the 6pin bending trick, and cleaned the Laser Lens and lubed up the Laser Guides.

Now all my games are booting and don't seem to be resetting, but... I'm still having problems with sound on backed up games.

the sound is still going off
I'm starting to think its because of the blank CD-R's I'm using. Cause I'm now use DJ for buring, with the same problem with sound.

Does anyone know what the best CD-R's are best to use for back-ups?
