Transfer/Download Canon 600D H.264 MOV to ProRes 422 for FCP 7 and 6 for Editing on Mac

The Canon EOS Rebel T3i/600D is new of the remarkable digital SDL cameras . The Rebel T3i/600D now sits at the top-end of the company's entry-level SLR range, taking all the bits that made the 60D good and shrinking them down a bit. The Canon 600D shoot Full-HD video with manual control over frame rate, exposure and sound. The videos are saved in .mov with H.264 as video codec and Linear PCM as audio codec.
After shooting some footage on the 600D, you may want to edit them in Final Cut Pro. Some users have reported abut the choppy output video from Final Cut Pro 6, and there are lags or skipped frames even when exported to 30fps. Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the first choice for you to make smooth videos for editing in FCP. It makes it easy to convert Canon DSLR 600D footage to ProRes 422 for FCP.

Below is the quick guide for those who have a hard time editing H.264 files in Final Cut Pro 6 or 7. Here I take the .mov files from Canon EOS 600D as an example, and convert to ProRes 422 at 30.
Step 1. Download Canon 600D MOV files to Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac.
Run Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as the best Canon EOS 600D H.264 MOV to ProRes MOV converter on Mac OS X. Click the "Add" button to import .mov files from the camera.
Step 2. Choose MOV format with ProRes 422.
Click the "Format" option, and navigate to Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov) as output format. The Mac Digital SLR camera video converter will convert H.264 mov to prores 422 mov.

You may notice that there are also other options like Apple ProRes 4444, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), Apple ProRes 422 (LT), Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy), DVCPRO HD 1080p30, HDV, etc.
Step 3. Choose 1080p size with 30.
Click the "Settings" button and choose 1920*1080 from the video size drop-down box to keep the original HD resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Click the drop-down box for frame rate, and you can choose 30fps.

Step 4. Convert DSLR video to ProRes 422 HQ MOV for FCP.
Click the convert button under the preview window, the Mac Canon 600D DSLR video converter will start converting DSLR video to ProRes 422 in full HD 1080p for FCP editing.
Hope you enjoy the optimal way to convert Canon H.264 mov to ProRes 422 for FCP 7 and 6, so that you can edit the H.264 files easily.
Tips:
1. If you are using Final Cut Pro 5 or lower version, ProRes is not the best format for you. However, you can choose QuickTime Movie Format > Apple InterMediate Codec(AIC) as output format for editing on Mac.
2. If you records videos in 1080p, you will need to deinterlace 1080i video to progressive mode for smooth playback on Mac computer. Click the Editor button and go to the Effect tab to make sure the checkbox for deinterlacing is ticked before clicking the convert button.
3. If you would like to edit Canon EOS 7D, 5D Mark II, 1D Mark IV, 60D videos in iMovie 8/9, FCE 4, go to the QuickTime Movie Format group in step 2 to choose AIC codec. You can also set 1080p output video size.
