Default Quickly Merge/Convert Canon 5D Mark II mov to AIC for FCE without rendering

sponsored links

I use Canon 5D Mark II recording mov files.I used iMovie to do the original edit but found it was very poor with some under-exposed video I had so I've moved to Final Cut Express which is able to process the video much better. I found though that reading the Canon 5D Mark II mov files directly into FCE meant an immediate render was required but that by converting all the mov files first in AIC makes rendering unnecessary.(Canon EOS 5D Mark II enables video recording with 1080p MOV. )

So I need convert my Canon EOS 5D Mark II .mov to Apple Intermediate Codec MOV for Final Cut Express, after google search, I found Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac is the recommended can convert Canon EOS MOV to AIC for editing on Mac. Then I download and try it. And I had success with the Apple Intermediate Codec at 1920x1080 editing for my FCE without rendering.

Here is the step-by-step guide to quickly convert Canon EOS 5D Mark II MOV to Apple Intermediate Codec (*.mov) for editing in Final Cut Express on Mac without rendering.

Step 1. Upload Canon EOS files to EOS Mac video converter.
Use USB cable to connect Canon to iMac/MacBook Pro, after transferring .mov files from Canon EOS 5D Mark II to computer hard drive, run Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as the fast Canon EOS 5D Mark II mov footage to FCE converter. Click the "Add" button to upload .mov files from camcorder to Mac application. The Mac Canon EOS video converter also supports .mov files from Apple Macintosh hard drive or external hard drive as input.

Step 2. Choose AIC codec with 1080 video size.
Click the "Format" option, and move mouse cursor to QuickTime Movie Format > Apple InterMediate Codec(AIC) (*.mov) as output format. To get 1080 video, click the "Settings" button and choose 1440*1080 for FCE 3.5, or 1920*1080 for FCE 4. If for FCE 3.5, you may also change frame rate to 30 from the drop-down box of video frame rate option.

Step 3. Merge/Edit and trim EOS MOV videos. (optional)
Tick the checkbox for "Merge into one file", and the Mac EOS MOV joiner will combine and join the files on list into a single file.Select the file you want to trim and click the "Editor" button, you will face the Editor window with original video and output video preview. You can enter exact time point as the set in and set out for trimming.

Step 4. Convert Canon EOS video to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) (*.MOV) for FCE.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Mac Canon EOS 5D Mark II MOV to AIC MOV Converter will start the conversion from Canon EOS MOV to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC) MOV for Final Cut Express without rendering.

Soon after the conversion is finished, just bring the AIC videos to Final Cut Express for editing without rendering. After editing you can burn to Blu-Ray/DVD disc and upload to internet like YouTube, or email the videos to friends or others to play on Quicktime.
