Recently I donloaded a short movie clip with the exctention .avi.
I tried to play it but my windows media played seems to wanted to download somethign first that kept trying for a few sec and then it gave me a message saying "unableto download appropriate decompressor"
I have media player version 6.01
How do I download this deecompressor or do i have to download the latest win media player?
I have win98 SE.
amd k6 450mhz, 256 ram.

my player can play regular avi movies and this is the first time it is looking for thic codec or active x.
I have already active x 8.0 in my system, and also MPEG-4 video codec
