I'm only gonna use cd-r until I get a dvd burner. They are only $260 now and cheap media is like $170 for 100. And with that multi-rom set-up it won't cost much more to put 4 games on 1 dvd-r than on 4 cd-r's. And you don't have to waste a whole dvd-r for 1 small 400MB game.

I've been using CDRw's and never had any problems...

Cheap media too, like $.50 per disk if you buy like 20 or more at a time.

What the recommendation means is that if your XBox DVDROM drive reads CDRs, you are one lucky person. So far, I've only seen it read CDRW, DVDR and DVD/RW. It reads Memorex CDRWs which are pretty cheap. A 25 spindle costed $20.

From all th NFO's I have read, the XBox code for the games doesn't have CD/DVD checks like the PS2. So all those crews do is remove extra material, replace movies with dummy files and rip it to CDRW.
