No one said that the Pasasonic Q has no protection. All they said was that it could take regular DVD-R's.

well i made a image and i can tell you now

i have a Pasasonic Q and tested the burned media on it and it dont work.

so the panasonic has protection just like the normal gamecube

i dont think that the consoles have the protection , i think its supposed to be imbeded in the game (like a watermark ,of some kind ) and if the console doesnt find it it doesnt play the disc , something like that , there just has to be some smart @rse that has copied and is playing backups on his/her gc

The panasonic has protection. It was modified months ago to be able to play dvdr or cdr movies or music. This is why the boot disc really means nothing at all. Modifying the Gamecube to play backups is not the problem at all, people have know how to do this for a while now. The problem is actually making backups of gamecube games. This is where the trouble is. No one to my knowlege has figured out how to backup a gamecube game.
