How can I check the audio format? Is there a way to strip the audio from the movie and convert it to what it is supposed to be?

The audio is not supposed to be any specific format for an AVI file.. Check the files properties or the filters used to play it to find out what format the audio stream is, then decode it to a PCM wave file. Load the AVI file as the video stream and the PCM wave file as the audio stream into TMPGEnc and it should have no problems with it.

What program can I use to convert it into the PCM wav file? What's the process actually? When I click on properties, it doesn't give me enough info.
