Could anyone please tell me if it is possible for a company off the net to locate my home address from my ip address.
i would like to tell you more about it but i dont think im allowed to.

ohhhhhhh yes m8 they can 100%
what people dont think is that they are secure behind there firewalls
but the main people who want to look at everyones pc can get round
any of them
but normal the only people that can do this is the cops and trading
standards as everything is download to the main server before it
get to that person



what is the problem m8 email with more details

backup2k1 is totally right, even if you are using anonymous proxies they will still ultimately get your address. Even if you are going through an ISP and using a dynamic one, the ISP logs the time and date of who used that proxy at such and such time etc

Although all the above is true in the case of the authgorities if you chain quite a few anon proxies together then it is unlikely you will be traced for trivial matters either because they cant be bothered or the activity is no longer in the logs. Proxies only log about a months access and probably the same for your isp logs for isps and proxies are huge and take up valuble disk space so they arent kept for very long.


And actually the answer to your question is NO companies can not access your details through your IP aprt from your ISP just like anybody else could and they cannot requset your information either only the authorities can.

Well if the above is TRUE.. why cant they catch all these perverts that operate on the internet and put em all in prison..if they can see and store what there downloading and have there adresses then they shoul be able to stop 99% of the child ****ography perveted bas***s once and for all :/
