Default Enable DMA

Help PLEASE
Can anyone tell me how to enable DMA?? I have a Pioneer 108 DVD RW.

The most important thing is to have the latest, updated drivers for the relevant controllers.

DMA should first be enabled in the Bios if relevant (Not all Bioses have this), and then at Operating System level through Device Manager.

What is your operating system?

After you check the bios setting,

Right-click My Computer, Properties, Hardware tab, Device Manager, under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, then double-click the PrimaryIDE channel as well as SecondaryIDE Channel and it's under Advanced Settings tab in each.

Make sure you check both so it's enabled for you hard drive as well as your optical drives.

just a question m8, how do i find out what drivers for the relevant controllers. are used on my mb Asus P4C800-E Deluxe i875P, ATX, DDDR400, Gbit Lan, USB 2.0, 1394, 6Ch Audio, SATA, Raid, WiFi Port

Download a copy of freeware, [url=***********.lavalys.com/products/download.php?pid=1&lang=en&pageid=3][b]EVEREST HOME EDITION[/b].

This will scan your PC and tell you exactly what your hardware is and usually provide links for the latest drivers.

If you get stuck at all, just post back.
