Transfer Panasonic TM700/HS700 AVCHD to ProRes Proxy .mov to Work Offline with FCP7
Is it possible in FCP 7 to Log and transfer a TM700 MTS (AVCHD) to a ProRes (Proxy) for an offline version? No, it is impossible, and apple officially declared that all their Mac software can not support Panasonic 1080 60p/50p camcorder like TM700, HS700, SD700, SD600, and newly released TM900, HS900, SD900, SD800, etc.

All Panasonic HDC-TM700/HS700 camera users could find the editing of the recorded 1080/60p, 1080/50p AVCHD files in FCP, even the last version FCP 7 is really a problem. If you go to Log & Transfer the 60p/50p AVCHD files to FCP 7. Final Cut Pro 7 may shut down immediately or pop up error message. So it is not even to say to get a workflow with TM700/HS700 AVCHD files (within FCP) to work OFFLINE on a PRORES (PROXY).

However, in order to help those 1080/60p 50p camcorder users to log and transfer there AVCHD files to FCP 7 for offline or online editing. Aunsoft is work hard to solve all possible problems and produce this Video Converter for Mac, also a great Mac Panasonic 60p/50p AVCHD to ProRes converter for working on Leopard, Snow Leopard. It does not only convert Panasonic TM700/HS700 1080 60p/50p AVCHD to ProRes 422 Proxy on Mac for offline editing, but also convert 1080 60p/50p MTS files to ProRes 422 (HQ), ProRes 422 (LT), ProRes 4444 on Mac for online editing with FCP 5/FCP 6/FCP 7.

Here is the step-by-step guide for you to Convert/Transfer Panasonic TM700/HS700 AVCHD to ProRes Proxy to Work Offline with FCP7 on iMac/MacBook Pro with Mac OS X like Snow Leopard.

Step 1. Load TM700/HS700 AVCHD 1080 60p/50p videos to Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac.

After transferring .mts files from Panasonic HDC-TM700/HS700 camera, run Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac as the best Mac TM700/SD700 MTS to ProRes Proxy converter, and click the "Add" button to load .mts videos.

Step 2. Choose Apple ProRes 422 Proxy MOV output format.
Click the "Format" option, and choose Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 Proxy (*.mov) for converting AVCHD videos from MTS to MOV with ProRes 422 Proxy as video codec for loading to Final Cut Studio. With this option, the output video will be kept as high definition1920x1080.

Step 3. Merge Panasonic AVCHD files. (optional)
Tick the checkbox for "Merge into one file", and the Panasonic HDC-TM700/HS700 1080 60p/50p MTS converter will join and combine the video clips into a single file as output.

Step 4. Convert HDC-TM700/HS700 1080 60p/50p AVCHD to ProRes Proxy for Offline Work with FCP7.
Click the convert button under the preview window, the Mac Panasonic MTS converter starts converting 1080 60p/50p MTS videos to ProRes 422 Proxy .mov, and joining the MTS files for editing in Final Cut Pro 7.

After converting and merging the MTS files, just import the output ProRes Proxy MOV files to Final Cut Pro 7 for working OFFLINE on a PRORES (PROXY), and the video is in HD 1920x1080. You can also import the output videos to Final Cut Express (FCE) 4 for editing in full HD.
