Default question about FSB and Ram

sponsored links

as i have read, in order for a CPU to run at it's posted speed on da box, the FSB has to match with the memory, such as a FSB 266 CPU needs 266 DDR memory, anyways so what about the 800 mhz FSB from pentium, is there a DDR memory that runs at 800mhz? and another question about overclocking, where do u change the muliplyer? on my ESC mobo it's display as 100/100 is that the FSB (i have PC100 ram), where would i change the mutiplyer? and also if i use DDR333 ram, can i use a processor that has 266 FSB? what if i run the processor at 333FSB, is it possible to do so? i'm sorry that it's a bit confusing, but i'm kindda a newb to this so the questions might be a little weird. thanks in advance.

It sounds like you want to run your CPU at 266FSB and use PC2700, good luck :-)

Samsung RIMM4200 133 FSB would be my choice for the 800 mhz FSB (Pentium 4 Northwood)

I have run Samsung PC2700 in both of the CPU's below
XP133 (DDR266)
XP Thoroughbred 166 DDR333

But it didnt turn the XP into a Thoroughbred and you cant either as far as I know, and thats not much where OC is concerned

In MO the Asus A7N8X-X nForce2, 400Mhz FSB, 8x AGP, DDR400, Thoroughbred CPU support, and a Thoroughbred XP 2600 which you can get now for about 125 is a real bagain, and sure would be a nice place for DDR333,
