Default Any way to make CD-Rom drive work as DVD-Rom?

sponsored links
Hi everybody. Just as the title says, I'm trying to convert my computer's CD-Rom drive into a DVD-Rom drive. The purpose for this is to allow me to run programs such as Bioshock or Crysis on my laptop, which has a CD-Rom drive, but the programs are PC-DVD.

Would a virtual DVD-drive emulator work to run these programs, or is there any kind of codec I can download to enable the drive to run these types of programs?

I'm using a Dell Latitude D820 with Windows XP. I've updated all my drivers very recently and have all the service packs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking for an easier solution than tearing apart my computer and replacing the CD-Rom drive with a DVD-Rom drive.

Thank you, Kovahig
