Question Are my discs authentic ritek media??

sponsored links

I know i saw a post similar to this before, but I can't find it anymore (i tried search)... But I just got some ritek silver/purple 1x/2x and was wondering how I tell if they are actually ritek... I know they are supposed to have a darker purple surface, but since I have nothing here to compare it to that wont help.... the numbers in the middle ring say: E6-5L16302164964A09

Any help is appreciated...

the latest version of dvd dycrypter will allow you to track what brand of media you are using. just put it in the drive, and start dycryter and it tell you automatically.

Yes they are Ritek. I have the 1x/2x silvertops that you are refering to. If they have that dark purple dye on the bottom then they are Ritek. Ritek is actually the company that manufactuers that dark purple dye that is used on the bottom of the disk. The color on the top of the disc is irrelevant only the dye on the underside matters. For b17 bomber the discs are 1x/2x because on most burners they burn at 1x but if you own a Pioneer104/A04(or the 2x Cendyne) and have the 1.31 firmware they will burn at 2x or if you have the dual format sony drive with one of the latest firmwares then it will also burn at 2x. If you have the Pioneer105/A05 (or the 4x Cendyne) then you will only be able to burn them at 1x. So to make a long story short they are the exact same discs but on some burners (with certain firmware) they will burn at 2x instead of 1x. I hope this clears things up a bit.

The post about fake riteks going around was for the 4x only mate, and you should be able to tell if they are ritek as the dye is very dark purple, nothing else on the market comes close.
