Default Computer will not boot up and monitor will not come on [; ; winME]

sponsored links
Hello everyone,

My computer wouldn't detect the modem so I opened up my computer and removed the modem then installed it back in. When I turn on my pc there were 10 beeps. (but i think theres really just 8) There were 2 short beeps in a row followed by 8. When I turned my monitor on it would not come on. I tried using different monitors but the I get the same results. My modem card/slot is located above the graphics card/slot. I did not remove the graphics card. I do not know what is the problem. The kind of video card I have is a 3DForce B-32Plus Video Card AGP 4X, 32mb SDRAM...

My computer won't boot at all...It won't go through the booting process.
My Computer was working before this happened.

Can someone please help me.
Thank you.

Well, the only thing that I could find was 1 Long, 8 Short Beeps, and it says:

"Display / retrace test failed. Reseat the video card."

Well, you can try reseating the video card, even if you didn't took it out, maybe that fixes your problem. Give it a shot, you can't loose anything.

Hope it helps

I agree with mastermind.. definately a display adapter problem. Take it out clean the contacts and reseat the card... you should have no problems if all is done correctly

Well definatly make sure there seated correctly (connected)

Your mobo beeps theres a post not so long ago has all the faults that go with thew beeps.

But you probably just knocked something out of place.

Ived brushed past my pc before and knoked my graphics card out, then again I shouldnt nick the screws for my case
