Default e-mail wont work! help please boffins

i cant check my emails anymore. i keep getting this message...

"your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems or a long period of inactivity. Account "ntlworld" server pop3.norton.antivirus, protocol pop3, port 110, secure (SSL) N0, error number 0X800CCC0F"

whats pop3????/

anyone explain whats up & what to do pleeeeeeease????

u must have norton antivirus scanning your email messages,try disabling that just to see if that remedies it as i'm sure i had the same prob at some point and it was because of norton,i think it was to do with it altering the mail address(pop3) go to tools, accounts and click on mail tab,there you will see your account name(ntl)click on properties tab,then servers tab and you will see the mail addresses it uses(something like mail.ntl.com or something near enough)
norton may of altered that,it did for me and it screwed it up somehow?
check that nayway and try disabling norton just to check if that remedies it,what ver of antivirus u using?
it may be the problem,it may NOT but IF it is it narrows it down for you.

Did disabling Norton antivirus work for you?

pop3 is the incoming mail server using Outlook express, although
for ntlworld users the address is actually pop.ntlworld.com and your
outgoing address is smtp.ntlworld.com, you will see a list of ntlworld
addresses by going to the link below.
