Default Help converting to VCD or SVCD or DVD... Please read..

sponsored links

I just downloaded Dumb and Dumber DIVX (its a .avi file) and i want to turn that into DVD or VCD or SVCD file so i can burn it onto a CD and watch it in my DVD player. How can I do that? What programs do I need to make a VCD out of my DIVX (.avi)? Thanks...

Which is better (mpg or avi) ? I don't see why some people split AVI into 2 different MPEG file for 2 CDs. Why not just use 2 AVI files ?

If I d/l mpeg file already can I just make SVCD from that or do I still need to split it for better quality.

Please don't kill me, if u think my ques is dumb....I'm a newbie at this and just want to understand why people do certain things.

MPEG is standard because it is playable on DVD players

Apart from a few people

DIVX, AVI, ASF and a few others to boot are usually done by kids because they have to watch stuff on there PCs rather than have a DVD player.
