Default router help needed (connecting two computers)

i have already set up connection of the cable modem using two computers before i had the router, but rarely used it. can anyone advise me how to connect now using the router? what cables do i need etc

its a mentor router - 4 port 10/100 mbps ethernet broadband router

You just need to use straight through(regular) cat 5 cables. Connect one end into the NIC port of your computer and the other end into a router port. Do the exact same thing with the other computer, using another cable and inserting it into another port on the router. I'm going to move this to the Networking and Security forum for you.
