Question Which Virus scanner take up less resources?

sponsored links

I'm currently using Mcafee virus scan 5 and have seen that they've released 7 now! I was wondering if someone could tell which virus scanner takes up less system resources, Norton or Mcafee.

Cheers

both take up quite a bit ... but IMO, nothing can beat NAV on detection.

Ok so, so far it's 1-1. I just want to be careful as i don't want to go out and buy one of them and then find out that i should've got the other!

I'm going to move this to the Networking and Security forum for you. They've discussed this in detail there. I prefer NAV, although it's caused several conflicts over the years, usually hunting down a registry edit on symantec EXTREMELY LARGE site. Lazza has links there about great free virus scanners also. I don't know where he finds this stuff! You might need to have a look around there though as Lazza is gone now on holiday.
