Unhappy Norton Antivirus

sponsored links

I have Norton Antivirus 2002 on an XP pro machine but according to my Live Update engine, my virus definition subscription has expired. Do I really have to pay the fee they ask to renew? or is there a place I can download them for free?

Thanks for the help

There are only 4$ on a year. The definitions aren't free anywhere.

Can't you keep downloading the updates manually????

I thought all the subscription did was stop the auto updates??

I used to download the updates manually at

For retail editions of Norton AntiVirus, Intelligent Updater now searches for a valid subscription to virus definitions before it applies updates.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that it's now about $30 to renew. If you run liveupdate it should give you a price.

Not quite as drastic as that Wolf !

Just de-install Norton, remove all the registry keys using regedit and then re-install. Your 12 months will then start again.
