RIAA stands for Recording Industry Assosiation of America so no, they could care less about video, images or software. If it's copywrited in another country and they don't have their greedy little fingers in it, then there is nothing they can do about those songs. They are going after the music they are involved in.

According to the latest RIAA reports, they are looking at people who share more then 1000 songs.

no, they aren't going to hack into your computer and start diggin around for files. It is the amount of files you are sharing on the P2P programs such as Kazza or WinMX.

I can't confirm or deny that 1000 is the magic number but this is the info they are giving out to the news. Supposedly any thing less then 1000, they will give you amnesty and ask you nicely to remove them from your computer (yeah right)!

besides, i heard today on da radio somethin about a trail u leave when u download somethin. i dunno if its tru, but imma try to only download like 2 songs a week.....

Well, I've got close to 8500 and I've seen a few with more then that.

As far as leaving a trail, I suppose it just depends on the P2P program. But just for arguments sake, if it really did leave a trail, it wouldn't matter if you downloaded 1 or 100 songs a week. A trail is a trail. If your that worried about it, just share out a few songs at a time, keep the amount low.
