Question Win 2k Plextor CDROM Problems

sponsored links

I am having trouble with the following:

Adaptec 2940U2/U2W
SCSI Plextor UltraPlex 40TS Max
Windows 2000 Pro SP2

Other HW
SCSI Yamaha 4260 CDRW
SCSI SyJet 1.5GB Removable Harddrive.

I have updated all firmware and drivers and am still having no success. I even tried a fresh Win 2k install to no avail.

The problem is with DAE, seems to be fine for data. The drive will not reduce its speed when ripping bad or later tracks on a CD, and therefore is producing skips and dropouts during the rip.

Various rippers have been tried, including DBPowerAmp, WinDAC, NTI CDMaker, Roxio EZCD5, and they all do the same thing. I have also installed the latest ASPI from Adaptec.

I would point out that all of this Hardware works perfectly under Win 9x.

Can anyone suggest a solution or a SCSI CD ROM that actually works with Win 2k.
